Christmas/New Year Packages 2009

Christmas Eve

A log fire beckons you to relax. Perhaps you would like to start with our seasonal afternoon tea prior to the commencement of the festivities.

Prior to dinner we invite you to a champagne reception at 7:00pm. Our Gala Dinner will be served between 7:30 and 8:30pm after which you can relax in the lounges with coffee.

For those wishing to attend church, a midnight service wil be held at Appin Church just 2.5 miles from the hotel.

Christmas Day

Wake up on Christmas day and enjoy a Bucks Fizz with our full Scottish breakfast.

After breakfast or indeed anytime in the morning, why not join in our treasure hunt around Port Appin which promises to be both fun and challenging. This should usually take between an hour and an hour and a half - however, if you get in to difficulties, we have the full resources of the emergency services at our disposal! The results of the Treasure Hunt will be announced at about 2:00pm in the lounges with a prize for the winner.

For those guests that cannot wait for Christmas Lunch, a light sandwich buffet will be available in the lounges from around 12.30pm giving you sufficient time to burn off some energy (perhaps a good book in front of one of the fires!) prior to the main event. And so to the main event - our Christmas Lunch - which will commence at 4:00pm. The menu will be chosen near to the time but in any event will be fairly traditional.

After dinner it is time to relax with a good book or perhaps one of the family games. A light sandwich snack will be laid out in the lounge for you to help yourself at any time during the evening.

Boxing Day

Enjoy a leisurely full Scottish breakfast with the day being at your leisure. Why not enjoy one of the many walks or simply relax by one of the open fires with a good book.

Enjoy a sumptuous dinner served anytime between 7:30 and 8:30pm. The following morning, full Scottish breakfast will be served between 8:00 and 9:30am.

The above rates are based on double occupancy and are inclusive of all meals and drinks referred to in the above description as well as the treasure hunt. Single occupancy rates are available on request.

Special rates for between Christmas and New Year (27th, 28th 29th and 30th December)

Between Christmas and New Year we are offering the following rates for a minimum stay of two nights:

This is for a minimum two night stay and is inclusive of dinner and full Scottish breakfast based on double occupancy.

New Year Package 2009-2010

31st December

Why not make the most of the New Year break by arriving during the afternoon - this would give you time to enjoy our complimentary afternoon tea which will be available between 3:30 and 5:00pm and laid out in the lounges for you to help yourself.

Then, at 7:00pm, we start the festivities with a champagne cocktail and canapes. At 7:45pm dinner will commence and your chosen wine served. After dinner you have just got time for a short rest before our piper leads the procession to the village hall (100 yards) where our New Year Ceilidh will be commencing from 10pm. Do not worry if you are not well versed in Scottish dancing as we have a caller to explain each dance. After seeing in the  New Year you may wish to return to the hotel lounge for winding down with some stovies prior to retiring for the night.

New Years' Day

If you cannot hang on until brunch at 10:00am we also offer continental breakfast in your room between 8:30 and 9:15am. Otherwise we are offering a hearty brunch between 10:00 and 12:00 noon.

Our New Year Treasure Hunt around Port Appin can be started at any time during the morning and should take about an hour to an hour and a half. The results will be announced in the lounges at 4:00pm with a prize for the winner. Otherwise, the rest of the day is free for you to relax, go for a walk, play one of our board games or whatever else takes your fancy.

Our black tie gala dinner will be served at 8:00pm (announced by our piper) with coffee being served in the lounges afterwards.

2nd January

Full Scottish breakfast will be served between 8:00 and 9:30am with check out by 11:00am.
