Few venue's can provide all of the following combined into one package; - a stunning location on the shore of Loch Linnhe with incomparable views across the loch and towards the mountains beyond. - a level of personal service only offered by the very best hotels (we are an AA Inspectors Choice hotel). - surroundings conveying an intimate luxury. Understated and sophisticated. - cuisine of the quality you would expect from a restaurant that has consistently been awarded three rosettes from The AA. See the Awards page for more details of all the awards achieved. - a single contact at the hotel. Our Front of House Manager, Janette Macdonald, will ensure you recieve personal and efficient service in both planning the day and on the day itself.
Our flexible approach means we would be delighted to discuss with you your requirements whether it be simply a reception lunch or dinner for four people or for exclusive use with a civil ceremony in the hotel or garden, a sit down reception for 40 guests and all the trimmings. We would recommend you take the hotel on an 'exclusive use' basis as this provides for the very best atmosphere from a guests perspective. Rates for exclusive use are worked out per night which is normally based on check in from 2pm and check out by 11am the following day. Capacity The hotel has 11 double bedrooms including the two Suites which, with their sofa bedss, can sleep an additional two guests each. Two further bedrooms can fit a third bed bringing the maximum guest occupancy to 28. We also have a two bedroom cottage in the grounds that can sleep up to five comfortably. Additional accommodation is available within walking distance, including another 12 bedroom hotel and several guest houses of high quality. In terms of the restaurant, we can seat a maximum of 40 guests whilst buffet style would be up to 50. A single point of contact As your normal day to day living and working must go on whilst planning your special day, Janette will be on hand to assist you. Janette will be as involved as you want - she will discuss with you your requirements, advise where appropriate and book all the extras ie transport, piper, flowers, cake, photographer, music and more, for which we have many contacts. Menu's To help reduce your workload, our Head Chef has put together a range of dishes that can be combined to create a personalised menu. This also gives you the flexibility of deciding on the number of courses and controlling the budget. Alternatively, he will be delighted to create a menu from your own brief. It is also worth noting that we pride ourselves on being able to provide interesting menu options for vegetarians and those with allergies. We would also recommend that you come and sample our chef's cuisine to fully appreciate what we can achieve. In terms of wine, we pride ourselves on an extensive cellar which covers a wide range of prices, enabling you to control the budget. Alternatively, we have access to a wide range of importers should you have a specific request. Entertainment To make your day truly individual and memorable you may wish to consider some musical entertainment or other organised activity. Some examples are: Light musical entertainment - a simple way of adding a touch of sophistication before, during or after the meal. Ceilidh - usually held in the village hall next door, this is always great fun. The band will teach you the moves and it adds to the fun when everyone gets it wrong! Treasure hunt - a walking treasure hunt around Port Appin and lasting about one hour. Storyteller - gather round the log fire in the evening and listen to our Scottish storyteller resplendent in traditional kilt or perhaps take a walk with him the following day. Boat trip - enjoy a 1 1/2 hour trip around Loch Linnhe in this powerful speed boat (R.I.B.) taking in seal watching and the odd castle ruin or two. For a more comprehensive list of activities go to our 'Activities' page. Hopefully this has given you some ideas. Please contact Janette Macdonald at the hotel for further information. |
