We were incredibly pleased to be included in Alastair Sawday's list of top places to cosy up to this winter which came out in the Evening Standard at the weekend.
Everyone knows how well respected Sawday's guide is, so to be included in the list is a real honour and rewarding for staff. We have some terrific offers on this Winter and don't forget we are also open in January.
Alastair Sawday's British Hotels and Inns selects his top places to cosy up to this winter from country houses to windmills - read what he says about The Airds:-
'This smart country-house hotel on the Appin peninsular stands above Loch Linnhe with views across the water to the Morvern Mountains. It started life in 1750, an inn for passengers taking the paddle steamers up to the Caledonian canal. These days, it's one of the loveliest places to stay on the West Coast, its whitewashed exterior giving no hint of the wonders within. You enter through a small conservatory, then find yourself in a world of smouldering fires, freshly cut flowers, beautiful wallpapers and sofas by the dozen. Bedrooms pack a lovely punch – warm colours, smart fabrics, Frette linen for Vi-Spring beds, sparkling marble bathrooms. Best of all is the ambrosial food, included int he price'
Hope this tempts you to pay us a visit this winter.
